Two weeks after planting my mail ordered daylilies, this small fan produced a scape of eight buds! Notice it has only 1 leaf(?)! The flower was about 3 1/2" instead of the described 5" but what a nice surprise to see it bloom so quickly!

ReplyDeleteTowards the end of the daylily season you will notice that flower size is smaller and colors are not as bright. Just the same it's a treat to receive colorful blooms when you aren't expecting.
In the past couple days we have planted about 400 daylilies at our nursery. The weather here in Vermont has been perfect and should continue for a couple more days. Still lots to do before sun turns to snow.
