I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Poor Bandit here putting up with our silliness! We had a beautiful white Christmas here in NJ but non-stop evening rain left no trace of it the following day.
This is my view this morning...big, fluffy snowflakes falling as I blog away....makes me want to go out and catch it, taste it. Like most of you, I'll start 2010 with newly determined resolutions...be more patient, kind, helpful, productive. And, the old adage...exercise more, eat healthier, lose that extra ten pounds...you know the drill! But, most importantly, make time for 'myself ' and appreciate the little things in life. Say 'I love you' more often, or better yet, show it(!) and create more laugh lines...those are wrinkles I won't mind living with ;)
So hang up your new calendar...of course you know mine has photos of beautiful gardens...flip to that first page and fill in those boxes with fun activities and special dates (I hope there will be LOTS!) and start your New Year smiling. I even have Spring Fling (Buffalo, NY) penciled in for June ;)
A party with neighbors is on my calendar tonight. Our tradition of a late dinner, champagne when the Big Ball drops followed by decadent desserts...uh-oh, already one resolution gone to the wayside...diet starts tomorrow! And every year, I'm teased for falling asleep on the couch so better make time for a nap later...
Let the countdown begin...tick-tock, tick-tock...
Let the countdown begin...tick-tock, tick-tock...
I still forget the year occasionally :) I'm excited to start the new year, although we'll be bringing it in with tiling and grouting the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for snow here.
I love your glittery flowers.
Happy New Year!!

Hi Catherine!
ReplyDeleteA newly tiled bathroom...great! And doing it yourself..even better ;) That's a project that's been on my To-Do list for 3 years! Did the snow arrive?
GG: Happy New Year to you, too!
Autumn Belle, you're so sweet...and right back atcha!
Hi there, Mary Jane! Those are the chokeberries right outside my window, and they're one of my favorite photo subjects ;) Thanks for visiting and a wonderful New Year ahead for you, too!

Happy New Year Lynn! The flip side is here and so far going well. I am sure this year is going to be a great one. Can't wait to read the seed catalogs and drink hot tea.
ReplyDeleteHey Lynn! Hope you had a fun time last night!! I think my resolutions will start now (as opposed to midnight - or even this morning). Now that I've eaten every piece of candy, cookie, cake, or any kind of bar, it's a good time to start. I love that festive flower in your last photo!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, hope the party was grand - sounds like a lovely tradition.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Hi, Lynn! My comment is a day late, as it is now 2010, but I can't leave without saying how incredibly beautiful your photos are! And I'm right there with you with all the resolutions, although I think you're listing several that you don't need! I agree with Mary Jane... love the chokeberries, especially because of the raindrops hanging on for dear life. And, Bandit! Priceless. Happy New Year to you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteAwww, sweet little puppy. What a good sport he is! Happy New Years to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteFrance...my words to you exactly! Thank you ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! Yes, those seed magazines are what sustains me through our non-gardening months! Do you drool over the photos and mark every other item like I do...lol!
Wendy, I'm guilty, too! There were all those 'left-overs' the following day and now the weekend...let's start the healthy eating Monday..haha!
It was, Linda! Hope you had a great New Years, too. Truly looking forward to seeing you this year at Spring Fling!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, lovely comments are never too late ;) Thank you for being such a sweet friend, and ya know...I'm thinking up new projects for you as I'm typing so get ready!
Bandit IS a good sport:) Health and happiness to your family too, Robin!
Lynn, Bandit is sooo cute... makes me smile and want to hold him. Beautiful capture of the drops of water! and the closeup of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be sure I responsed to your question on my blog: I use a Canon SX20 IS. When my old Kodak went kaput this fall, I replaced it with this.
Happy New Year Lynn and may 2010 be a best year for you. And thank you for the birthday wishes. :)Diana
Happy New Year, Lynn!
ReplyDeleteI think one of my resolutions will be to eat plenty of 'decadent desserts' - they sound great!
Here's to a wonderful fun-filled, creative 2010!
Happy New Year to you. Your party sounds rockin.
ReplyDeleteI admire these photos, the cute beribboned dog photo, and the red berries with water dripping from them are favorites.
Happy New Year to you Lynn! Bandit is such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I didn't know you were a Prince fan.
Those are good resolutions, I love a new beginning.
I am glad I am not the only person who falls asleep early on New Years. :)
I like the sparkles on the flower. Very clever!
Happy New Year Lynn! Your photos are always amazing. Love the sparkle flowers!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I always party like its 1999 :-) Bandit says "why you do this to me again"? I am sure he gets it each year right? Our little doggie did.lol.,... Lacey would not stand for such nonsence though right? My girls would not hee hee... Great pic of Lacey looking out the window at the snow....
ReplyDeleteWonderful wishes, Lynn, and the very best year ever for you and yours in 2010! Your celebrations sound wonderful, especially the decandent desserts part! :-)
