Before and Before...?

During a heavy snowfall a few weeks ago, the landscape was ever so pretty. Big, fluffy flakes that really clung to the trees. I captured this pretty scene off our deck around 10pm. Afterwards, something about this view really nagged at me. I was definitely getting a deja vu feeling. Why was it so familiar....?
And look! Here it is...practically the exact "view" taken back in August. Funny how our eyes seek the same things over and over. I find many pics of the same plant, same angle, but taken years apart..creature of habit..I guess. So I'm not crazy after all. Well...just don't ask my family!
I had more spring photos to scan and share but, ahem..."someone" is keeping me from the scanner...sweet Lacey! Never fails, when I run the printer, she's right there, and even paws at the paper to keep it from coming out..so cute and I bet that sunshine feels pretty good!
Guess I'll wait 'til her nap is over...

  1. Hi Lynn, your pictures are beautiful. I really like seeing the same view in two totally different seasons. Your vacation looked like a ton of fun. I would really like to plan a trip to Rushmore before my daughter (13) gets too old to enjoy it. Yellowstone is another one that interests me, now more than before. Have a great day!

  2. Lynn, It is amazing how those 2 photos are so close (yet, so opposite!). They are both lovely, too...in the darkness w/snow, in the sunny day w/flowers,etc...both so pretty. I have the same situation w/Smokie, our cat:) I think they all must be related! Have you noticed how almost all gardeners have a cat? Or so it seems...

  3. I can so relate to this Lynn - I find myself drawn to the same picturesque views over and over! It is pretty cool to have seasonal shots of the same spot. Changes occur so gradually, and it's fun to see the contrasts in the seasons as well as watching things grow over time through pictures.

That shot of Lacey lounging on top of the printer is priceless!

  6. I love that view of the tree in your garden regardless of the season. Nice that you were able to find a different shot of it from last year. My cat does the same thing with my printer/scanner. :)

  7. That Lacey sure is a cutie there napping on the printer. Awww. That's funny that you had pretty much the same teacup planter combination last summer. The red petunias fizzled out on me so quickly, so I'll have to use something else this year. I wanted red to match the polka dots, and to attract hummers.

  8. Thank you for stopping by Keewee's Garden.
I too, find I have taken pictures of the same scene, plants etc. from different angles and at different times of the seasons. I like to go back and take a look at the plants to see how much they have grown over the years.

  9. Hi Lynn - this is wonderful. You have great pictures and you sound like me in the nursery hopping department. I absolutely love going to every nursery I can find - looking for just one more 'different' new plant that I don't have.
I love your Bridgeton Gem - that is so beautiful. I'm thinking I need more Daylilies.
The kitty picture is just too precious!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Linda
